Laura Trupp, 19, from Battle Ground, Washington, began her musical studies on the piano at age 3,
but fell in love with the violin at age 8 when she began lessons with Jessica Kelly of Vancouver, WA,
and continuing on in her studies with Clarisse Atcherson of Tigard, OR. She has played in the
Vancouver Youth Symphony, the Portland Youth Philharmonic, and the Oregon Pro-Arte Youth Chamber Orchestra.
She was homeschooled until September of 2003 when she began attending Clark College, where she graduated
with her AA in June of 2005. Last September, she transferred to La Sierra University in
Riverside, CA, where she plans on finishing her Bachelors degree in Music Education. Currently, she maintains
a private teaching studio at home and is active in her church and in community service activities.
She is a two-time winner in her category at the Harvest Days Talent Competition in Battle Ground, WA,
a third place winner of the ASTA scholarship competition in 2003, and in April, 2004, was a guest soloist
with the Middleman Orchestra in Portland, OR.
